TENS has a reputation as one of the safest, most effective forms of modern pain control available to women during childbirth.  

During this period you will experience pain of different types and intensities but due to the innovative technology which has been incorporated into the MamaTens unit, you will be able to help counter this. The MamaTens unit achieves this by delivering a variety of signals dependent upon the stage of your labour.   When labour begins, your midwife or birth partner attaches four small self-adhesive electrode pads on your back. The MamaTens control unit transmits electrical impulses through your skin via these pads.   These gentle impulses attack pain in two ways: by stimulating the release of endorphins, the body’s own pain-relieving hormones; and by stimulating the nerves to block pain signals before they reach the brain.  Positive effects can be felt immediately. The MamaTens unit and electrode pads are small and unobtrusive, giving you maximum mobility as you need it.

MamaTENS - Hire 

The voucher will enable you to rent a Mama TENS machine direct from Tens Care. The machine is suitable for use in the first stages of contractions and for when full labour begins. The rental time is for 4 weeks, but if your baby is late, simply call Mama Tens for a free 2 week rental extension. 

Once you have received your voucher pack all you need to do is contact Mama TENS by the number given on the voucher. You will need to state your name, address, telephone number, unique voucher number and baby's due date. Mama TENS will then arrange with yourselves as to when the kit will be sent through to you

Terms and conditions

MamaTENS reserves the right to levy additional hire charges should a unit not be returned at the agreed time. They also reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement costs should a unit be returned damaged or broken beyond repair. Rental units are for the exclusive use of the hirer.
