Interstitial Fluid is a compartment relatively unknown because currently there are no direct methods for sampling interstitial fluid. The EIS System allows for modeling of the human body and the estimation of interstitial biochemical values. Modeling is not the same imagery technique conventionally used in medicine. The approach is more like that of a physicist's. We reduce the diversity and complexity of the body functions by an appropriate choice of assumptions and measurements.

EIS System Operation

In use the EIS introduces electric signals of low intensity (1.28V D.C.) through the human body via 6 electrodes. This is painless and has no negative effects to the patient. 22 measurements are taken three times and a scan completes in 3 minutes. The scanning results are recorded by the EIS software , which analyzes and interprets the test results and produces a variety of informative models, graphs and data for interpretation by a medical practitioner

EIS consists of a small USB box, a footplate mounted with two feet electrodes, two hand plate electrodes, disposable head electrodes, cables connecting the electrodes to the USB box and to connect the USB box to a computer, and software. The EIS software records patient details, runs the scan when the patient is in contact with the electrodes, analyzes the results and displays the results in a user friendly manner.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

In healthy subjects, the EIS system is a non invasive bio impedance analyzer used for a general health check, to estimate body fat percentage and to give diet and micro nutrition suggestions. The applicable age range is 10 to 80 years old for sedentary subjects. For athletic subjects the applicable range is 16 to 60 years old.

In subject with symptoms but without treatment , the system can be programmed to compute various physiologic or blood flow parameters and, within the clinical context, to help regulate and target supplementary examinations. The applicable age range is 5 to 80 years old.

In subjects under medication, EIS system is used for the therapeutic follow up to help control dosage and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
